Upton Beach

• Swim, surf, boogie board, skim board, wind surf, kayak, or just relax on the beach.
• Bring a beach blanket and enjoy a picnic.
• Watch hang gliders coming down from Mount Tam.
• Follow nearby trailheads leading into Mount Tamalpais State Park.
• Bring tack and lures for shore fishing.
• Explore the nearby beach town, with restaurants, grocery, and shops.
• Dogs welcome on leash.

• Monitor tides, wind, and weather. Conditions can change quickly. Never turn your back on the ocean.
• Wear a wetsuit when the water is cold.
• There are no shade structures. Use sunscreen. Bring hat, sunglasses, and umbrella.
• Pack warmer clothes; weather can change quickly.
• Do not disturb marine animals or other wildlife.

From Highway 101 in Larkspur, take the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard exit west towards Olema, Turn left at Highway 1/Shoreline Highway, turn right at Calle Del Arroyo, and turn left at Walla Vista.

There is no parking on Walla Vista. You must park on Calle Del Arroyo (before the Seadrift gate) or at Stinson Beach. Be respectful of local residents.

• Be courteous and respectful of others. Parents and guardians are responsible for helping children observe park rules.
• Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet.
• Individuals accompanying dogs are required to clean up and dispose of pet waste.
• Keep the park clean and litter-free. Use garbage cans provided, scoop dog poop, and carry out all your belongings.
• Be peaceful. Loud noise and amplified music are not allowed.
• No smoking, no fires.
• No alcoholic beverages.
• No camping or overnight parking.
• No firearms or weapons of any kind.
• No operating or landing aircraft of any kind, including drones.
• Motorized vehicles are not allowed, except Power-Driven Mobility Devices (OPDMD) per Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
• Permit required for groups of 20 or more people.
• Some park locations may require permits for commercial use, including tours, classes, camps, film, or photography. Learn about permit applications.
• Do not approach, follow, or feed wildlife.
